100 YEARS 100 FACES

The large-scale public mural in the City of Stoke-on-Trent,

part of the 2025 centenary celebrations marking 100 years

of the city’s modern identity

In 2025 Terry was surprised and delighted to learn that he had been selected for inclusion on the huge mural  '100 Years -100 Faces'. It features 100 portraits to honour the people who have shaped the city's cultural identity.

The artwork was commissioned by the Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID (Business Improvement District) and was created by local artists Rob Fenton and Alastair Barnett.

They painted a mural that 'feels contemporary but is deeply rooted in the city's heritage'. It was unveiled to the public on Saturday 13th September 2025.

The mural features 100 portraits - a mixture of famous figures and unsung local people who have helped shape Stoke-on-Trent over the last 100 years. It’s intended to celebrate a broad cross-section - cultural icons, community heroes, sports legends, artisans, influencers, and more. The mural is a way to reflect on, honour and visualise Stoke-on-Trent’s history and community over a century.

The project was community-driven. People from all over the Potteries were invited to nominate and vote on who should be included, ensuring representation from across the city’s towns and histories.
